Your Santo Tomas retreat is a yoga retreat for ALL levels of experience. Whether you are new to yoga or a seasoned yogi, your experience with Santo Tomas Retreats will be enriching, exhilarating and liberating. Our certified yoga instructor will guide retreat guests through meditation, pranayama (breathing techniques) and asanas (stretching, sun salutations, strengthening and balance postures) to center your body and mind and to rejuvenate the spirit.
Classes are based in Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, Restorative and Yin/Yang styles that are open to all levels of experience. There will be a focus on the breath connected to movement, where each pose links to the previous pose, creating a continuous “flow” of movement. A variety of breathing and meditation techniques in addition to longer holds in a pose will also be taught depending on the particular class focus. The intention for these classes is to invite you to show up exactly as you are and to promote self-expression in the practice of yoga…To start where you are, use what you have, do what you can and be comfortable in your practice and experience while stretching the possibilities.
There will be an evening and morning class on the private terrace of the retreat home overlooking the beautiful golf course and lake. Morning classes tend to be more energizing and afternoon sunset classes are gentle in nature (slower and more meditative). With this daily combination you will receive a sense of what it means to embody ‘graceful balance and strength’ in your life.
